Privacy

The RAR tool is designed to process archive bytes locally in your browser. The selected archive is not sent to UnpackNest servers for extraction.

Who is responsible for this site

UnpackNest is built and operated by TECCONET. TECCONET is responsible for the processing described in this policy. Questions about privacy can be sent through the contact page.

RAR processing

The RAR extraction engine runs in a Web Worker in your browser. Archive bytes are not required to be uploaded to the server.

Site administration

Administrative settings, optional feedback, and operational logs are separate from archive contents. Privacy-preserving first-party analytics may be enabled to measure visits, engagement and safe product events without storing file contents.

Cookieless site analytics

UnpackNest uses its own cookieless analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device (no localStorage, sessionStorage or similar identifiers). In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it only starts after you give consent; elsewhere it runs without a consent prompt. Each page view sends only the page path, page language, a device class (mobile, tablet or desktop), the referring domain, active reading time and anonymous tool outcomes such as "extraction succeeded" or an error code. A random token is created for each page load to group these events; it is never stored and cannot link one page or visit to another. We do not store IP addresses, full user-agent strings, file names, archive contents or passwords. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals switch analytics off. Anything that uses cookies or identifiers, including Google AdSense, waits for your consent.

Third parties

Third-party services are enabled only when required for an active production feature. If advertising is enabled, the Google AdSense disclosure below applies.

Advertising and Google AdSense

When advertising is switched on, UnpackNest shows advertisements through Google AdSense, an advertising service operated by Google LLC. Google, other third-party vendors, and companies in Google's certified advertising-partner programme may place and read advertising cookies on your browser, including the DoubleClick cookie (commonly stored under the name IDE). Those cookies, together with web beacons, IP addresses and similar identifiers, are used to deliver ads, to measure whether an ad was shown or clicked, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to understand how a campaign performed. Where the law requires a choice, including in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, advertising cookies are not used until you consent. You can change that choice later.

Third-party vendors and DoubleClick

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a person's prior visits to this website or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to UnpackNest and other sites on the Internet. UnpackNest does not operate those vendor cookies and does not receive a copy of any advertising profile Google or its partners build. The page linked below, "How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps", explains that use and points to the current partner information.

Advertising cookies

Advertising cookies are separate from the small amount of browser storage UnpackNest itself may use. UnpackNest does not set a DoubleClick cookie and does not set an advertising cookie of its own. If an ad is displayed, Google or another third-party vendor may set or read cookies such as IDE. Those cookies belong to the vendor. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or turning off personalised ads, does not stop the archive tools from working. Ads may still appear, but they will not be tailored. The cookie policy describes storage that UnpackNest controls. Vendor cookies are described by the vendors.

Your advertising choices

You can opt out of personalised advertising, and you can read Google's own explanation of how advertising data is used, at any time. These pages are run by Google, not by UnpackNest:

Archives you open in the RAR, ZIP, 7z and TAR tools are read on your device. They are not uploaded to UnpackNest, and they are not sent to Google, DoubleClick or any advertising vendor. Ad selection does not use your file names or file contents.
