Terms of use

UnpackNest is provided as a file utility. You are responsible for files you choose to process and for keeping backups of important data.

The service

UnpackNest provides free browser-based tools that open and extract archive files (RAR, ZIP, 7z, TAR and GZ) on your own device, together with guides about archive formats. The tools are deliberately limited in scope; the tool pages and guides describe what is and is not supported.

Local processing and your files

Archive files you choose are processed inside your browser and are not uploaded to UnpackNest for extraction. You remain responsible for the files you open, for keeping backups of important data and for checking extracted files before you run or share them. UnpackNest is not an antivirus product and does not guarantee that the contents of an archive are safe.

Acceptable use

Guides and accuracy

Guides are written and tested by the UnpackNest editorial team, but operating systems and third-party programs change. Steps and menu names may differ on your device. Guides are provided for information; follow them at your own judgment and keep backups. If you find an error, please tell us through the contact page.

Third-party software and links

Guides mention third-party programs such as 7-Zip, Keka, WinRAR or Rufus and link to other websites. TECCONET does not control them and is not responsible for their content, availability or licences. We receive nothing for these mentions.

Advertising

The site may display advertising, including Google AdSense, after your consent choice where consent is required. Advertising never appears inside the tools. The privacy policy and cookie policy explain how advertising and consent work.

No warranty and limitation of liability

UnpackNest is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, TECCONET is not liable for loss of data, lost files, or indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the site or its tools. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Intellectual property

The UnpackNest name, design, guides and screenshots belong to TECCONET. Open-source components are used under their own licences, listed on the licences page. You may quote short passages from the guides with a link to the source.

Changes

We may update these terms when the service changes. The current version is always on this page. Last updated: 2026-10-13.
