About UnpackNest

UnpackNest builds practical browser-based file tools with local processing as the default whenever the task can be completed on-device.

Who runs UnpackNest

UnpackNest is a product of TECCONET, a small software studio that builds web tools and publishing software for Arabic and international users. TECCONET develops the tools, runs the site and is responsible for its content. The same name appears in our privacy policy and terms of use, and you can reach us through the contact page.

What we build

We deliberately keep the tools narrow. When a case is not supported, such as encrypted RAR entries, multi-volume RAR or ISO images, the tools and guides say so plainly and point to a reliable alternative.

Who writes the guides

Guides are written by the UnpackNest editorial team at TECCONET: the same people who build and test the tools. Every guide has a named publication and update date. Arabic guides are written for Arabic readers, not machine-translated from English; product names and commands stay in Latin script so they can be copied.

How we test

Before a guide or tool change is published:

  1. We create real test archives for each case we describe: normal, damaged (truncated), encrypted, split and unsafe-path archives in ZIP, 7z, RAR, TAR and GZ.
  2. We run the tools against them in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit at a 390-pixel phone width and a 1440-pixel desktop width.
  3. Screenshots in the guides are taken from those runs on the real site, not mock-ups.
  4. Operating system steps are checked against current Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS menus. When menus differ between versions, the guide says so.
  5. An automated checker verifies that every guide page exists in the sitemap, that internal links work and that no two pages repeat each other.

Our principles

Advertising and independence

UnpackNest is free and may be supported by advertising. Advertisers have no influence on what we write or recommend. We mention third-party tools (7-Zip, Keka, WinRAR and others) only because they solve the problem in question; we receive nothing for those mentions.
